- It was originally released during the Dark Relics Content Update, where it could be dug up on Islands and Fortresses as a part of the Dark Relic Voyages. The Bewitching Doll could be turned in to Order of Souls Mystics at any Outpost for Gold, Reputation and Commendations.
- The Bewitching Doll was re-introduced on November 3rd, 2022 as part of the time-limited Return of the Damned Adventure, where it could be found in Sea Forts for the duration of the Adventure. If a Bewitching Doll is brought to the soul of a defeated Soulflame Captain, the Bewitching Doll can be converted into an Enchanted Bewitching Doll.
- The original version of the Bewitching Doll was unique in that it had a set Gold reward of 3,500 , whereas the rest of the Dark Relics had variable rewards. Its reward was significantly reduced and given variation after it was reintroduced during the Return of the Damned Adventure.
- The unique Pirate Chat dialogue option for the Bewitching Doll used to be: "Hey, did this creepy doll just move?!"
