The Cannon of Rage is a weapon and treasure in Sea of Thieves. It can be picked up and moved around the world, and deployed to be used like a ship's Cannon. However it heats up with each use, which may cause it to overheat.
Usage
The usage of this item is still under investigation.
- The Cannon of Rage is a portable cannon that can be picked up and deployed. When deployed, it becomes a cannon similar to those on ships and can be fired from.
- Similar to the Chest of Rage, the Cannon of Rage can accumulate heat and then explode. It gains heat whenever it is fired or when it takes damage. Note that the Cannon is only vulnerable while in its deployed form. When undeployed, it is safe from harm and cannot explode or gain heat.
- The cannon gains 35 heat per shot (regardless of ammo or pirates being launched) and gains heat equal to damage taken. The Cannon can withstand 200 heat before starting the explosion sequence.
- Due to the above, a cannon of rage can only be safely shot 5 times in a row at once. When the explosion sequence begins, additional shots can be fired before it explodes.
- Once the Cannon begins the explosion sequence, it cannot be undeployed or saved in any way and will explode no matter what.
- After not being fired for 6 seconds, the Cannon will naturally lose heat (6 seconds to lose one cannon shots worth). Heat loss can be sped up via water buckets, rain or being deployed in shallow water. Vomit will not reduce the cooling time.
- Water buckets will skip the initial 6 seconds of no cooling that comes after a shot has been fired. Water buckets will have no effect once the cannon has already started cooling.
- If the cannon explodes, it will deal considerable damage to nearby entities (large radius) and damage ships (small radius). The damage on the ships depends on the ship type.
- Sloop: 1 small hole, 1 medium hole, 2 damage to Mast/Wheel/Capstan
- Brigantine: ???
- Galleon: ???
- The Cannon of Rage cannot be deployed in a few instances, which include:
- If there is not enough room behind the cannon
- In crow's nests
- In the lower deck of a ship
- Near interactive components of a ship
- On rowboats
- In deep water
- In specific Tall Tale areas
- Any ammo that can be loaded into island and ship cannons can also be loaded into the Cannon of Rage
- Any loaded projectile will stay inside the cannon if it is retracted, and can be shot immediately after the cannon is deployed again.
- Even in it's retracted form, a fuse can be seen coming out the mouth on the top of the cannon, signifying that it's loaded.
