Fruit Crate
The Fruit Crate (also referred to as Crate of Fruit) is a type of Resource Crate for Fruit. A filled Crate can be sold to Merchant Alliance Representatives at an Outposts for Gold and Reputation at any time for a small reward, or on Commission via Trade Good Commissions for nearly double the reward when delivered to the correct NPC in the allotted Time.
Mechanics
Every Fruit Crate can carry up to 50 pieces of Fruit Food items. This includes Bananas, Coconuts, Pomegranates, Mangoes and Pineapples. No other Food or Resource items can be put inside the Crate. Fruit Crates can be found on the Seas with Fruit already in them.
Player Crews can occasionally find Trade Good Commission Quests from Tattered Parchments, Messages in a Bottle or Mysterious Journals that require the delivery of a filled Fruit Crate to a specific Outpost Senior Trader by a specific date and time. With this Quest present, Players can pick up an empty Fruit Crate from any Senior Trader.
Fruit Crates can be used as portable Food containers to have easier access to healing items.
Where to find
Fruit Crates can be found from the following sources:
- Picked up empty from a Merchant Alliance Representative on Outposts if the Crew has an active Crate of Fruit Trade Good Commission.
- Can also be purchased from a Merchant Alliance Representative on Outposts (with 50 Fruit inside) for 3,500
- Chance to find beached on the shorelines of Islands, excluding Outposts, Seaposts and Forts (with 0-50 Fruit inside).
- Chance to find inside sunken Shipwrecks on the seas (with 0-50 Fruit inside).
- Chance to find among Barrels of Plenty floating on the open seas (with 0-50 Fruit inside).

Fruit Crates that are filled with 50 Fruit can be sold to:
- Merchant Alliance Senior Traders stationed at the docks of Outposts for Gold and Merchant Alliance Reputation and Emissary Value (if sailing as an Merchant Alliance Emissary)
- The Servant of the Flame at The Reaper’s Hideout for Gold and Reaper's Bones Reputation and Emissary Value (if sailing as a Reaper's Bones Emissary)

If Crews have an active Crate of Fruit Trade Good Commission in their Map Radial Menu, they can sell a Fruit Crate to the specified Senior Trader for nearly double its Gold, Reputation and Emissary Value. This bonus does not apply when sold to the Reaper's Bones Company.

Notes
- Picking up and placing Fruit Crates on a Ship for the first time gives Emissary Grade Reputation to Trading Company Emissaries representing the Merchant Alliance or Reaper's Bones.
- All Resource Crates can be caught with a Harpoon.
- All Resource Crates emit a White Glint from a distance.
- Fruit Crate Trade Good Commissions are quite rare, making the Merchant Forager Title and Commendation very prestigious.
Trivia
- Prior to the Anniversary Update that added new types of Fruit, the Fruit Crates used to be the Banana Crate instead, as Bananas were the only food items in the game.
