Screenshot guide

Screenshot standards

HUD:
  • Hide the HUD unless it is important to the screenshot.
Colours:
  • Turn off any colour blind settings unless to highlight it specifically.
Image Quality:
  • Images should be of reasonable quality, and at the very least not blurry.
Lighting:
  • Well-lit, sunny (no storm) daytime images, unless otherwise necessary.
  • Regions should be either Shores of Plenty or The Ancient Isles, unless otherwise necessary.
  • Sun should be positioned above or in front of the subject; NOT behind as this can cast dark shadows on the subject.
Aspect Ratio/Crops:
  • It's preferred that either full widescreen (16:9) or square (1:1) aspect ratio are used for consistency.
  • Other crop sizes may also be used in situations where the sizes listed above are not available.
File types:
  • Both jpg or png are preferred.
    • User screenshots - jpg can be used to save on file size.
    • Official assets - file type should be unchanged in most cases.
Surroundings
  • Where possible, avoid cluttering the screenshot with other props, treasures, npcs, players, etc.
