Royal Fortune
The Royal Fortune is a Galleon found shipwrecked within Dead Man's Grotto during the A Pirate's Life Tall Tale. The non-hostile Phantoms and remains of its crew can be found throughout Dead Man's Grotto.
Lore
While little is known about the ship's history before becoming beached on Dead Man's Grotto, the final moments of its crew can be observed within Dead Man's Grotto. After becoming beached, the ship's crew was led by it's Captain through the caves of Dead Man's Grotto in search of it's cursed treasure. Along the way the Captain, as well as members of the crew, would betray each other in order to take the treasure for themselves. In the end only the Captain and two of his crewmates lived to see the treasure, upon which their skeletal remains can be found.
Trivia
- The Royal Fortune first appeared in the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park ride.
- The ship's name is a reference to the Royal Fortune, a name given to many ships captained by the legendary real-world pirate Bartholomew Roberts, better known by his nickname Black Bart.
