A Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure

Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure is a type of Athena's Fortune voyage and requires Pirate Legend status in order to purchase. The voyage tasks players to seek out cursed treasure chests buried on different islands within a given region.
Obtaining
A Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure can the obtained from the following methods:
- Purchased from the Pirate Lord as a Pirate Legend.
- Purchased from a Shipwright as a Pirate Legend Captain. Available individually or in a bundle of five voyages.
- Given away through Twitch Drops on March 31, 2023 by watching "The Fifth Anniversary Invitational" stream on the Official Sea of Thieves Twitch Channel for 20 minutes.
Voyage stages
Upon beginning the voyage, each player in the crew will be given a Wayfinder of Legends in their Quest Radial which will begin to point to the location of the first buried treasure chest. There are three chests to find and dig up in total.
The Wayfinder's needle will be imprecise at a distance, pointing vaguely in the correct direction, then become more accurate as the destination is approached. The exact dig spot is found when the needle spins around uncontrollably.
Once the treasure chest is dug up, the Wayfinder of Legends will point to the next buried chest on a different island in the same region. The voyage ends when all buried chests have been dug up.
Rewards
A single voyage guarantees three buried treasure chests from the following list:
- Chest of a Thousand Grogs
- Chest of Sorrow
- Chest of Rage
- Chest of Boundless Sorrow
- Chest of Legends (Rare chance to find on final dig)
Bugs
- If a Chest of Legends is dug up as one of the buried treasures, the voyage will not complete and the Wayfinder of Legends will continue to point to the location where that chest was buried.
