A Legendary Hunt for Black Powder was a type of Athena's Fortune voyage and required Pirate Legend status in order to purchase. The voyage tasked players to seek out a range of armaments buried on a Skeleton Fort.
Obtaining
A Legendary Hunt for Black Powder could be obtained from the following methods:
- Purchased from the Pirate Lord as a Pirate Legend.
- Purchased from a Shipwright as a Pirate Legend Captain. Available individually or in a bundle of five voyages.
- Earned by playing Sea of Thieves between 10:00 UTC April 28, 2023 and 10:00 UTC May 2, 2023. (Available to all players regardless of Legendary status.)
Voyage stages
Upon beginning the voyage, players were to receive a single X Marks the Spot Map for a nearby Skeleton Fort. The map had seven X Marks dig spots that unearth a variety of explosive themed treasure. The voyage ended when all of the X Marks had been dug up.
Rewards
A single voyage guaranteed seven buried treasures from the following list:
- Firebomb Crate
- Athena's Fortune Firework Crate
- Gunpowder Barrel
- Stronghold Gunpowder Barrel
- Keg of Ancient Black Powder
