Controls

Controls are accessed by the Settings menu (found under Game Options or the Main Menu) and is split between two sub-menus depending on input: "Keyboard and Mouse" and "Controller".

Gameplay Controls

The game's default controls are listed below.

Movement

Action	Mouse & Keyboard	Xbox Controller	Notes
Forward	`W`	Left Analog Stick	Moves the Player forward. Hold for continuous movement. Allows the Player to climb up ladders. Pushes the Capstan forward, to raise the Anchor.
Backward	`S`		Moves the Player backward. Hold for continuous movement. Allows the Player to climb down ladders. Lowers Sails while interacting with the Sail Length. Pulls the Capstan backward, to delay the raising of the Anchor.
Left	`A`		Moves the Player to the left. Hold for continuous movement. Steers the ship to the left (port) while interacting with the ship's Wheel. Adjusts Sails to the left while interacting with the Sail Angle.
Right	`D`		Moves the Player to the right. Hold for continuous movement. Steers the ship to the right (starboard) while interacting with the ship's Wheel. Adjusts sails to the right while interacting with the Sail's Angle.
Jump	`Space Bar`		Makes the Player jump.
Sprint	`⇧ Left Shift`	Left Analog Stick (button)	Makes the Player run.
Walk	`Ctrl`	Left Analog Stick (lightly)	Makes the Player walk slowly.

Primary Use			Use held item (Ex.: Attack using held weapon, eat food, drink from tankard, play equipped instrument, etc.)
Secondary Use			Cutlass Block, offer items to other Players, raise Tankard or Lantern.
Item Radial	`Q`		Opens radial menu to select equipment, food, and quests.
Pirate Chat	`E`		Opens radial to select preset text phrases. Categories range from alerts, strategic, and contextual specific to an item or ship interaction.
Quest Radial	Unbound	Unbound	Quick access to view quest maps, riddles, etc.
Stow/Drop	`X`		Stows equipment away, Drops items held in hand.
Cycle Weapons			Cycles between weapons.
Weapon 1	`1`	Unbound	Directly selects weapon equipped in slot 1.
Weapon 2	`2`	Unbound	Directly selects weapon equipped in slot 2.
