You'll have to take your own cannonballs to our chest delivery ships I'm afraid, as ruffians keep stealing those that we put on them. DeMarco and Lesedi should have taken out one of my special protection policies.
— Tristan, Overheard in the tavern

Tristan is a shopkeeper at the Equipment Shop at The Glorious Sea Dog.

According to his dialogue, Tristan also sells insurance policies as a means to feed his large "family".

Tristan's the name, and protecting your possessions is my game! Once you've purchased them from me, I mean.

You can protect my possessions?

Abso-posi-lutely I can! It's a rough old world out there and insurance policies are going to be the next big thing.
You can take any item from my selection and wisely choose to apply the Premium Protection Plan for a paltry hundred percent surcharge.
The, if your item should happen to be lost, stolen or destroyed, I'll offer an identical replacement, ensuring total peace of mind!
(Minus the standard claim processing costs and on-site assessment charge, peace of mind my be partial or non-existent, terms and conditions apply.)
Please do consider it - I've got a family to think about, you know!

How's business these days?

Oh, it has its ups and downs. Mostly downs, if I'm being honest. And here's my with a wife and seven kids to think about...
Things haven't been the same since The Arena closed its doors. How's a fellow supposed to sell policies if nobody's here to kill one other?
I briefly tried selling Emissary Flag insurance until that perfectly friendly chap with the mask who didn't terrify me in the slightest came to visit.
But I'm sure you're an understanding sort of pirate who's here to make my day with a purchase or ten!

Where are your family, Tristan?

Oh, uh, they must have... popped out for a while. I'm surprised you didn't pass right by them on your way up here.
They've probably just gone for a walk. Or a swim. Yes, that works. One of those swims where you dive really deep and can't be seen.
With so many mouths to feed it can be quite noisy when they're all hanging around here. You stopped by at the right time, if you ask me!
Now, never mind who is and isn't real...ly here, let's talk about what I can sell you today...

Tristan's the name and I'm here to ensure all your hard-earned possessions are kept safe in this terribly dangerous world.

You can protect my possessions? That sounds ideal, tell me more.

Let's start with two of my most popular policies, shall we?
For just twice their purchase price, you can take out a policy that replaces you old items with new ones if they gt broken.
Should they get merely damaged, you'll be pleased to know I also offer an all hours repair service, again the cost is twice the purchase price.I don't want to hurry you, but I have a wife and four young ones to get home to.

Have you anything on sale?

Yes, I do have a small number of policies to suit more modest purses.
I've got a scheme that guards your items against loss or theft, but not if you lose them while at sea or should they be stolen by other pirates.
I can also coat your items in a special wax taken from the ears of gold striped pigs that will protect them against small scratches.
Both of these only cost the same as the item's purchase price.
I realy would appreciate the custom, I have a wife and five children to feed if you understand.

How much extra gold are you making on these policies, Tristan?

A mere pittance I assure you!
Certainly not enough to support my wife and six children.
The life of a trinket seller is a challenging one, but I'm sure my protection policies will be popular one day.
