NPCs are Non-player Characters in Sea of Thieves. They can serve a variety of purposes, such as shopkeepers, Trading Company representatives, and also as part of Quests and Tall Tales.

Outpost NPCs

These are all the NPCs that appear on Outposts. Each Outpost has set NPCs for the tavern, the shops and the three main Trading Companies.

Ferry of the Damned NPCs


The Glorious Sea Dog NPCs

The Glorious Sea Dog acts as the a hub for the Sea Dogs. Since the closure of The Arena, only those NPCs that were accessible through Adventure Mode can still be visited in-game.

Athena's Fortune Hideout NPCs

These are the NPCs found at the Athena's Fortune Hideout hidden under every Outpost tavern. Only accessible to Pirate Legends.

Reaper's Lair NPCs

These are the NPCs found in the Reaper's Lair hidden under The Reaper's Hideout. Only accessible to pirates who have reached Allegiance level 100 with the Servants of the Flame faction and reputation level 75 with the Reaper's Bones.

Quest NPCs

These are all the various characters that appear as a part of Voyages, Tall Tales and Adventures.

Quest Givers

NPCs who give players Tall Tale Books in chronological order.
