Reputation
Reputation is a player statistic that represents the player's effort and dedication towards specific Trading Companies. Reputation for each specific company can be seen under the Reputation tab in the Pirate Log.
Earning Reputation Levels
Reputation levels can be earned in the following ways:
- Selling treasure to any representative NPC for that company
- Unlocking, increasing grade or completing a Commendation for that company
- Lowering that company's Emissary Flag with Emissary Grade higher than 2
- Purchasing a Letter of Recommendation for that company from Larinna
The amount of Reputation required to pass each Reputation level increases for each level earned. For example, level 42 is halfway to level 50.
Multipliers
Trading Company Emissaries
Crews flying an Emissary Flag with Emissary Grade higher than 2 will receive a Reputation and reward multiplier on any treasure sold to the company of the flag they have raised. The multiplier increases with Emissary Grade:
Emissary Grade | Rewards, Reputation & Emissary Value |
---|---|
Grade 1 | Base Reward |
Grade 2 | +33% Base Reward |
Grade 3 | +67% Base Reward |
Grade 4 | +100% Base Reward |
Grade 5 | +150% Base Reward |
Events
Events such as Gold Rush and Gold & Glory offer Reputation and reward multipliers:
Event | Multiplier |

Gold & Glory | +100% Base Reward |
Rewards
After five, or ten for Athena's Fortune, Reputation levels, companies offer Promotions for sale which allow players to access further company related titles, cosmetics and higher level voyages.
Athena's Fortune is a company exclusively for Pirate Legends. In order to reach Pirate Legend status, a player must reach Reputation level 50 in any three Trading Companies and purchase the corresponding level 50 Promotions from a representative NPC for each company. The Mysterious Stranger can then be approached to grant Pirate Legend status and access to the Athena's Fortune Hideout.
Trading Companies
The following table lists each Trading Company and how players can earn Reputation with them.
Notes
- Reputation experience gains are tied to specific treasure items and not their Gold value or Emissary Value. This means that every item of the same type will always give the same amount of Reputation once sold to the respective Trading Company. Items with the same monetary value can also give different amounts of Reputation to different Companies.
- Voyages offered by Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls or Merchant Alliance will only scale with purchased Promotions and not Reputation levels. Therefore a player with Gold Hoarder level 50, without having purchased any Promotions will still get voyages with single islands.
- Players can only buy one Letter of Recommendation for each available Trading Company per major monthly update.
