Meat
Meat is a type of Food item in Sea of Thieves generally gained from Animals. Meat can be cooked to improve its health benefits or to be sold to The Hunter's Call Representatives on Seaposts for Gold and Reputation.
Types
There are two tiers of Meat: Animal Meat and Beast Meat. Each tier has its own Cooking Times, Gold rewards, and Health Gains.
Tier | Name | Source |
---|---|---|
Animal Meat |
Chicken | Chickens |
Pork | Pigs | |
Snake | Snakes | |
Shark | Sharks | |
Beast Meat |
Kraken | Kraken |
Megalodon | Megalodons |
Where to find
Animal Meat can be acquired by killing Snakes, Chickens, and pigs, or by finding them in various storage locations. If a land creature dies to Fire, it will drop either Burnt or Cooked Meat. Beast Meat can be acquired by killing the Megalodon or Kraken, or by finding them in various storage locations across the waves.
- Animal Meat:
- Beast Meat:
- Megalodons drop up to five pieces of meat upon death.
- The Kraken drops one piece per defeated tentacle.
- Meats of all types and of any cooked level have a chance to be found from:
- Barrels of Plenty floating at sea
- Shipwreck Barrels
- Food Barrels on Skeleton Ships
- Rowboat Chests
- Storage Crates
Storage
Meat can be stored in the ship's Food Barrel, or any plain, non-ship Barrel (up to 100 per square), in the Rowboat chest (up to 20 per square), in a Storage Crate, or in the player's inventory (up to 5 total Food items).
Note: Raw, under-cooked, cooked, burnt, and half-eaten meats each use a separate inventory space, and for player inventory all count to the same overall total.
Health Gains and Regeneration
Cooked Meat will grant a Health Regeneration effect on top of its base Health Gains. Health regeneration is an effect that kicks in 10 seconds after taking damage. The regen counter resets when additional damage is taken.
Each piece of Meat can be eaten twice.
Note that Under-cooked and Raw meat will make the player character sick with blurry vision and vomiting.
