Pig

Pigs are passive Creatures in Sea of Thieves. They can be found on Islands, and caught in Pig Crates. They are sometimes requested by the Merchant Alliance.

A captured Pig must be fed Fruit regularly to survive. When a Pig is hungry, it will cry loudly and sit down in its crate. They can still be moved and sold while crying. If a captured Pig is left without food for long enough, it will die from starvation and de-spawn, leaving a piece of Pork behind.

Pigs can be killed for Pork, which can be cooked and eaten for a health regeneration boost or sold to The Hunter's Call. Raw pork cannot be sold and will provide only a small health boost of 5% and will cause the player to vomit. Like all meat, Pork can be eaten twice.

Types of Pigs

There are four varieties of Pigs, each with its own price of gold.

A Pig is worth 10x more Gold when commissioned through Merchant Alliance voyages.

Meat

When a pig is killed it drops Pork, which can be cooked and sold to The Hunter's Call or to the Sovereigns.

• The Pig's appearance may have been inspired by the real-life (juvenile) Göttingen Minipig.

  • Captured pigs will now take a little longer before becoming hungry, and the time before these hungry pigs subsequently perish has also been increased.

  • Pigs have been demoted from Sea Fort Captain status and now award the correct Seasonal Renown.
