When Guardians of Fortune is ahead

Fabjous greetings, my most noble of pirate participants!

Who are you and what do you do here ?

I am Samuel. The Bard? I am surprised you have not heard of me!
Perhaps you are very new. I will forgive you. The memory can fog and through that dense thickness no light may shine.
You may discern that I am poet and dramatist; wordsmith and my master of turning phrases.
As to what function I serve for the great Pirate Lord, let me elucidate!
I am the Chronicler of the Athena's Fortune faction. I observe and let my audience know how goes the Battle for the Sea of Thieves.

And how does "go the battle"?

Let joy be unconfined. We are winning!
If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? And if we're winning, should we not party?
Shall I compare this to a summer's day? Victory is more lovely and more temperate.
The Pirate Lord is happy. Belle is happy. That should make you happy!
And I shall like it as you like it.

So you support Athena's Fortune?

Of course! The Pirate Lord is the only person who can rule such a noble place!
This treasured throne of pirates, this scintillating sea...
This blessed ocean, these bounteous waters, this Sea of Thieves!
But brevity is the soul of wit.
So perhaps I should just say that I do indeed support Athena's Fortune.

How did a Bard end up being a Chronicler?

We also serve who stand and stare, you know.
Not everyone can wield a cutlass or an eye of reach.
Some are born Chroniclers and some have Chronicling thrust upon them.
I did dream I would see my play, Sail's Well that Ends Well" receive rave reviews...
But we are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sloop!

When neither side is ahead

To beat or not to beat. The Reapers, that is. That is the question!
For all is in the balance, weighted equally 'gainst each other.
Neither is ahead and neither behind, both the same and not one the victor or the loser.
The course of true war never did run smooth, but this is rougher than we'd like.
Once more unto the Seas, dear friends! Once more. Pretty please.

• Woah, woah and thrice woah! What news? I hope it is the good kind.
• Well met, pirate. I prithee, can you sway this terrible conflict?

Ending conversation

• All's well that ends well, they say. But your destiny is now to make that so.
• Go celebrate it, swashbuckler, and make choirs of pirates sing you to your best.
• Ah, parting is such sweet sorrow. Losing? Not so much.
