Bone Caller

From Sea of Thieves Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Bone Callers are a Throwable Supply Item in Sea of Thieves. They can either be thrown by hand or shot out of Cannons to summon 3 friendly skeletons that will fight alongside you and your crew for a limited time or until their destruction.

Where to find

Bone Callers are rarely found in Resource Barrels, Storage Crates, Rowboat Chests and Skeleton Ships. They can be stored in the Ship's Cannonball Barrels. Like Cannonballs, Bone Callers can also be unloaded from previously loaded Cannons.

Usage

Bone Callers can be thrown in a short arc by a player using the Primary Use key. If the key is held, the pirate will perform a short windup animation, although it does not appear to affect the bomb's trajectory. They can also be loaded into cannons like Cannonballs and fired at greater distances. On impact with a surface, the Bone Caller will shatter, creating a small explosion and spawning 3 friendly skeletons to aid you in combat.

Storage

  • Up to 5 Throwables can be held in a player's inventory at one time.
  • A single Bone Caller can be loaded into any Cannon, signified by orange smoke spilling out of the Cannon's muzzle.
  • Up to 99 Bone Callers can be stored in one storage space of a Barrel at a time. A single Ship's Cannonball Barrel can carry up to 3 pages worth (i.e. 4752) of Bone Callers.
  • Up to 20 Bone Callers can be stored in one storage space of the Rowboat Chest. A single Rowboat's Chest can carry a maximum of 2 pages worth (i.e. 640) of Bone Callers.
  • Up to 99 Bone Callers can be stored in one storage space of a Storage Crate. A single Storage Crate can carry up to 1584 Bone Callers.

Notes

  • Bone Callers cannot be placed inside Cannonball Crates.
  • Although Bone Callers were introduced as being discoverable in Skeleton Fort barrels and in crates left behind after a Skeleton Fleet, they remain randomly discoverable in any barrel.
  • Skeletons summoned by the Bone Caller cannot be harmed or harm the summoner and their crew, however, they may still block projectiles.
  • Skeletons summoned by the Bone Caller can spawn with a Pistol, Cutlass, or Blunderbuss.
    • In most cases the Bone Caller will summon 2 Cutlass and 1 Pistol or Blunderbuss skeleton.
  • Bone Caller Skeletons can last up to ~1 minute before expiring.
  • Using a second Bone Caller will instantly destroy any skeletons you have active and spawn three new ones.
