The Burning Blade is the flagship of Captain Flameheart. It is encountered during the Burning Blade World Event and the final wave of a Ghost Fleet or in any Ghost Fleet raid voyage.
Lore
The first mention of the Burning Blade was during The Shroudbreaker. According to the Pirate Lord's account, his quest for the Shroudbreaker artefact came to an end because of an encounter with the Burning Blade, which caught up to and sank the Pirate Lord's Ship, the Magpie's Wing.
The Burning Blade can be seen at the end of Heart of Fire inside Flameheart's Lair. It would later be fought in Ghost Fleet battles.
The figurehead of the Burning Blade was kept at an altar for Flameheart in Wanda's Hideout on Wanderers Refuge for some time. Wanda also had managed to also acquire one of the Burning Blade's Cannons, which she used to develop Cursed Cannonballs. Later, after she splintered away from him, the altar was desecrated, leaving the figurehead on the ground. It was later moved into place on the reconstruction of the Burning Blade that was present at Shipwreck Bay for a time. Finally, it was hung from the ceiling of the building at The Reaper's Hideout before being crafted into a throne for Flameheart once he made his return.
During A Dark Deception, it was revealed in a journal by Hammer & Anvil that reconstruction of the Burning Blade has started after the figurehead was retrieved from Wanda's old hideout. A small piece of the figurehead had to be broken off for the creation of an enchanted compass.
In Season 13, Flameheart emerges from the Reaper's Lair and sits upon his throne within the Hideout and embarks on his plan; The Burning Blade, fully rebuilt and significantly improved, emerges from the waves and begins its voyage to carry out rituals and it's shipmaster's wishes, crewed by his loyal Obsidian Skeletons and Pirates loyal to his cause.
Burning Blade Cosmetics
The Burning Blade Sails can be unlocked for purchase from the Shipwright Shop by earning the Banisher of the Spectral Flame Commendation by defeating the Burning Blade 10 times in a Ghost Fleet World Event or in any Ghost Fleet raid voyage.
Another ship set, the Burning Blade Reborn Set, can be unlocked by progressing through the Feeding the Fire commendation, accomplished by taking control of the Burning Blade and completing Skeleton Camp rituals as the crew of the Burning Blade.
