Curses are a group of Vanity Items in Sea of Thieves, which can be equipped at the Vanity Chest. Curses are a purely cosmetic element of the game and add no in-game benefits.
They are acquired as rewards for specific Tall Tales related Commendations, as well as being rewarded for reaching a certain Allegiance level for either Hourglass Faction. Curses may also be purchased from the Pirate Emporium, and through the duration of some Seasons, unlocked as a reward of reaching a certain level.
Curse effects will cover Makeup and Scars, but do not override them. The Shores of Gold Curse will give Scars a golden appearance wherever they overlap.
