The exterior of the Shrine is a towering spire of stone and glowing coral, and sitting at the base is a fallen stone Titan as well as a stone ring leading to a staircase down to the entrance. Players will come to a spiral staircase where, at the bottom, they will see three Sirens depicted; one with a chain, holding its spear at ease, one with a piece of coral, holding it out defensively, and one with a gem, brandishing it and preparing to strike with a final Siren bearing a coral war-horn leading the rest. The positions of these three; chain down, coral middle, and gem top, will be crucial to remember in completing this shrine. The rest of the Shrine is a small underwater tunnel system with a large central chamber housing a stone Titan. Players will find a Siren Statue holding a Siren Gem left of a small stone monolith down the path, then a Siren leader with a war horn as they come to the main chamber. Swimming south of the Titan, players will come upon a coral Siren Statue in a secluded room hidden by a small pathway. Southeast of the Titan, on the stairs to the left if you're facing it from the chamber's entrance, the chain statue lies in wait. After this, players can hit the statue bearing the conch horn and the Titan will slide back, revealing a passageway with two other Titans, a nice haul of Coral Treasure, and a secret room.
Journals
There are 5 journals scattered throughout the Shrine, written by Sudds.
1. Shrine Ancient Tribute
(On a pile of stone, opposite the Siren depictions after you first swim down inside.)
Tribute, an interesting word. Respect, admiration, both are shown in acts of tribute. This is a place of tribute, but for whom? Ancestors, those that pass on? Did the Ancients believe they could speak to those on the other side? Must discover more. Explore every nook and cranny, leave no stone unturned...
2. My Friends!
(At the base on the first undersea vent you reach after heading South from the Siren depictions.)
Tricky, tricky! Three there were, one which took some clever thinking to uncover. Water can flow and water can crash. But find them I did and then they were revealed to me. My friends! Even here beneath the waves they whisper to me and tell me their precious secrets. The truth, about the Great Warrior and the Sea Queen. Not just stories, but real, Ancient man and merfolk woman. With a love that could destroy both their worlds.
3. The Warrior and the Sea Queen
(On a stone as you enter an area of red coral after heading East from the horn-wielding Siren Statue.)
The Warrior and the Sea Queen, so much love mixed with so much pain. Sea Queen's anger made the sea thrash and boil. Boats destroyed and dragged below, added to her kingdom. Crews taken, what became of them? Can they still see the stars? A vow she made, that any who walked upon the land would pay until her king was returned to her.
4. The Sea Queen's Army
(On a piece of purple coral to the West of the main room after the water level has been raised. Jump across the stone Titan to reach this point.)
War was declared. Battle lines drawn, Sea Queen on one side, Ancients and merfolk on the other. The Queen swelled her army, with minions that could take her war to the land-dwellers. People once, changed inside the singing stone. Ocean Crawlers ever after, different types? Not sure, needs more research. Merfolk too? Attacked to swell her Sirens ranks; a single scratch could doom them. Nowhere was safe, on land or sea.
5. Mermaid Gems
(On a stone table down below, once the central stone Titan has been moved.)
An accord, between the Ancients and the merfolk. Their wisdom combined. Combined in what? A container? Something capable of holding immense power... The glittering gems! A fire within to turn the Warrior into the Sea King, what else could they contain? A power, wielded by the Ancients. A power that forced the Sirens to slumber. Sudds knows a new story now. But there are more pages to turn...
To save pirates from needing to take their new-found treasure all the way back up to the surface, up to 20 loot pieces can be stored in friendly Mermaid Statues found along the way. Any Coral Treasure Chests filled with three loot items count as a single loot item, saving up space for the other Treasure items to be stored in the statues. Any Treasure left with the statues can be redeemed back on the surface from a friendly mermaid with a shell, emitting purple smoke. When interacted with, any treasure collected will float up to the surface and the mermaid depart.
Trivia
The Shrine of Tribute, like the Shrine of Ancient Tears, was likely once above water, as indicated by the abundance of Ancient architecture within the bowels of the structure. However, it is unlikely to have been a meeting place between Mer and Ancient, since there is no chamber leading back into the sea.
Sudds implies that the Shrine of Tribute may have been a series of catacombs of some sort.
The entrance of the Shrine of Tribute mirrors the structure near the Hall of Titans on Tribute Peak, as well as being similarly named, implying that their purposes of being catacombs for honouring the fallen could have been one and the same.
