The Sea of Thieves 3xLP Vinyl Soundtrack is a 38 Song soundtrack spread across three Long-Play Vinyl records created in collaboration with Rare, Xbox Game Studios, and iam8bit. It was opened to Pre-orders on June 3rd 2021 at the cost of $99.99 USD and shipped out on April 7th 2022. Included with the Records is a 24 page storybook with 5 thrilling tales as recounted by Merrick.

Legendary developer Rare, Xbox Game Studios, and iam8bit have been collaborating for quite a lot of years. Despite countless cool projects, the very product description you’re reading recalls our most ambitious endeavor yet. Since its debut in 2018, Sea of Thieves has become as mighty as a thousand galleons traversing the treacherous sea – and we thought it only appropriate to create a vinyl soundtrack worthy of such a voyage. From sweeping orchestral epicness to jauntily infectious sea shanties featuring composer Robin Beanland’s favorite instrument, the hurdy-gurdy, this 3xLP is the ultimate desert island vinyl (provided you’re also stranded with a turntable). Befittingly, our dear pal Umbra offered us a compliment to those tunes – tall tales from all about, as recited by that grizzled old salt, “Merry” Merrick. Across an illustrated, 24-page storybook bound into the gatefold jacket, you’ll discover bounties of exclusive lore once thought lost to the depths of the ocean. After a few pints, Merrick has no secrets, it seems. This is the ultimate treasure for Sea of Thieves superfans, absolutely drenched in detail.

Story Contents
The 24 page storybook contains 5 different tales, each one linked to a specific side of each Vinyl record except for LP 3's F-Side which has the associated Shanty Lyrics in place of a story. These tales often match up to the tracks chosen for that specific vinyl and side.
A Maiden Voyage (LP 1: A Side)
Recounting the adventures of Maggie, Fishook Frank, his brother Fred, and one simply known as Noggin. A Maiden Voyage follows the crew of a galleon known as the Valiant Foal as they take their first steps into the Sea of Thieves and meet up with Larinna.
Stitched Up (LP 1: B Side)
Stitched Up follows the escapades of a one Stitcher Jim, including the events of the The Seabound Soul and Heart of Fire Tall Tales as seen by the denizens of the Sea of Thieves.
Jailbreak (LP 2: C Side)
Jailbreak follows the tale of Adelheid, captain of the Unforgiven, and their encounter with Warden Chi as well as their subsequent capture and escape.
A Parting Gift (LP 2: D Side)
A Parting Gift follows a tale of Rose and George as they track down the signs left behind by Captain Briggsy.
All That Glitters... (LP 3: E Side)
All That Glitters... is the story Merrick overheard from the raggedy crew of a galleon in exchange for a hot meal. It recounts the crew's experiences over the course of the Shores of Gold tall tale.
Shanty Lyrics (LP 3: F Side)
There is no specific story here written to paper, it just includes the lyrics for the in-universe shanties of "We Shall Sail Together", "Grogg Mayles", "Bosun Bill", and "Becalmed"- however- it's notable to mention that the Music on LP 3's F Side is woven together as story in itself. One that follows a band of pirates performing at a tavern and the accompanying shenanigans that occurred during their stay.
