Dead Man's Chest
The Dead Man's Chest is a stationary object found within the Coral Fortress and Spire. Unlocking it is required to progress both the Dark Brethren and Lords of the Sea Tall Tales. It requires a Dead Man's Key to unlock.

Coral Fortress
The Dead Man's Chest within the Coral Fortress encountered during Dark Brethren contains a note left for Davy Jones by the enigmatic Cap'n.
The note reads as follows:
Spire
The Dead Man's Chest within the Spire encountered during Lords of the Sea contains Davy Jones' Locket, one of two matching Lockets symbolizing the lost between of Davy Jones and Calypso. Upon the player opening this chest, Calypso destroys the Locket with several bolts of lightning, although the appearance of the locket remains unchanged.

Notes
- While appearing similar to a Container Chest, the Dead Man's Chest cannot be carried, used to store items, or closed once unlocked.
Trivia
- In Pirates of the Caribbean, the Dead Man's Chest contained Davy Jones' heart.
- This is referenced in the commendation Heart of a Thief as well as Calypso's dialogue before destroying Davy Jones' Locket.
