The Ghost Ship Parchment is a type of Quest in Sea of Thieves issued by Order of Souls Trading Company Representatives as part of Ghost Ship Voyages.

Where to Find

Ghost Ship Quests can be acquired from the following sources:

Note: Even the most basic Ghost Ship Voyages are only sold to Players who have reached Reputation Rank 25 with the Order of Souls.

Difficulty Scaling

Similar to many Voyages, Ghost Ship Parchments have dynamic scaling based off your respective promotion in the Order of Souls. This scaling affects how dense the density of Ghost Ships in the fleet as well as how many Flagships (Minimum of Zero, Maximum of Two) spawn alongside the Ghost Captain ship in the final wave.

Additionally, upon reaching the maximum promotion with Order of Souls, there is a chance that the Burning Blade will appear in place of the standard ghost captain ship.

Note: Ghost Ship parchments obtained from Captain's Voyages don't scale and are locked to their respective ranks.

  • "An Order of Souls Commission" Will be locked to rank 25 scaling, the lowest difficulty.
  • "An Prized Order of Souls Commission" or "A Mercenary Commission" Will be locked to rank 50 scaling.

The Quest

Once Player Crews have acquired a Ghost Ship Map, they can access it from the Map Radial Menu viewed with the Primary Use button (Keyboard White Mouse Left.png/360 RT.png) and showed to others with Secondary Use (Keyboard White Mouse Right.png/360 LT.png).

The Map always leads Crews to a single Large Island that has been overrun by Ghost Ships and tasks them with defeating the named Ghost Captain Ship.

The Grunt Fleet

Before Crews can take on the Ghost Captain Ship, they need to first defeat a number of Grunt Ghost Ships. These Ships only take 3 Cannon hits with any projectile to defeat. The number of Ships required for the Captain Ship to appear is dependent on the difficulty or the Promotion level of the Ghost Ship Voyage.

The Ghost Captain Ship

Once enough Grunt Ships have been dealt with, all the Ships will enter portals and the Ghost Captain Ship will come out with its retinue. The Ghost Captain Ship is designated by its Ghost Captain Sails and takes more Cannon hits to defeat. The number of Cannon hits is dependent on the difficulty of the Voyage.

Ghost Ships leave behind Ghostly Treasure, which is circled by wraiths on the Seas.

Grunt Ships can occasionally leave behind Storage Crates of the Damned with extra Cannonballs and Planks inside. This Crate can be sold to the Merchant Alliance for Gold and Reputation.

The Ghost Captain Ship will always drop 4 Skulls of the Damned and 1 Captain Skull of the Damned. These Skulls are valuable to the Order of Souls who reward Crews with Gold and Reputation in return.

Emissary Mechanics

Any Crews sailing as Order of Souls Emissaries will receive Emissary Grade Reputation for sinking the Ghost Captain Ship and claiming and returning the Ghostly Bounty Skulls to their Ship.
