The Forsaken Hunter journals

Amaranta's The Forsaken Hunter journals were found exclusively during the the time-limited The Forsaken Hunter Adventure.

Forgotten Journal #1

Found among the ruined buildings on the north-east beach of Wanderers Refuge.

The deed is done. My message lured Merrick away from the safety of Stephen's Spoils, and... the rest was easier than I thought. The thrill of the chase! I honestly enjoyed it.
What I do not enjoy is wandering up and down this forsaken beach. How can I hide if I can't find the wretched hideout?
I'm supposed to follow the river, whatever that means. Perhaps somewhere along the underground passageway? Maybe near that old campfire...
For now, this journal is a good excuse to sit in the sun while I ponder my bright new future. There won't be much daylight where I'm heading...

Forgotten Journal #2

Found lying under two palm trees on the West side of Wanderers Refuge.

Ghost Ships, Soulflame Captains, Flames of Fate... All of them weakened the barrier between worlds. It was enough for us to flit back and forth as needed.
But wounds heal. Our old routes have slipped from our grasp, been blockaded or sealed away. That left me trapped here, alone.
At least the box has allowed us to stay in contact. The power to carry words to and fro, even to the land of the dead! I wonder if Morrow knows the truth.
Wanda wants my notes destroyed, but why? The book is already ripped apart; its pages repurposed for messages and orders to dim-witted Phantoms.
Once I bury the final fragments, my tracks will be covered. One day, I may even come back for them. A little memento of the day my new life began.

Forgotten Journal #3

Found near the skull piles on the east beach of the main island at Sailors' Bounty.

Dialogue icon.png

If we are to move freely, we must lay hands on a new source of power - one with a most unusual history. The oldest enemy of the Pirate Lord...
I never once paid any attention to those key-twirling fools in their miserable tents. Useless wretches, slaving away to serve a master blinded by greed long ago.
No, not blinded... Sister says he could see so much more with those glittering eyes. Twin Veil Stones, used to peer into other worlds at countless treasures, all just out of reach.
No wonder the Gold Hoarder went insane.

Forgotten Journal #4

Found on the southern isle of Salty Sands lying on a rock near some bushes.

Who knows what gives Sirens their power? Not me, and frankly, I don't care. What matters is the weapons they carry.
Even once I have all the pieces, I'll need help. Not even Wanda knows the ritual to make them whole and bend them to our purpose.
Luckily, the Brethren have grown in number during their time stranded in the Sea of the Damned. Phantom pirates pledged their loyalty by the dozen.
They're not the brightest bunch, but a simple kidnapping should be within their means, so long as I give them written orders to follow.
In fact, I've just had a brilliant idea. What's that phrase? Two birds with one stone...

Forgotten Journal #5

Found at Cannon Cove lying against a bench at the central campsite.

Dialogue icon.png

The mystic did as she was told with hardly any persuasion. I could have left her here, but she can still be useful to me in another way.
When Flameheart kidnapped the Weaponsmith all those months ago, he nearly brought my Sister's wrath down upon himself.
It took some doing, but I convinced her to call off the attack. We were just one ship after all. No need to bring attention to ourselves just yet...
Little by little, I've been able to widen the gulf between them. I will not allow a family reunion to jeopardise my place in the Dark Brethren.
Through Olga, I'll remind Wonda of her place in this world - the choices she made and the chances she squandered. Make sure she knows the line not to cross...

The Rogue's Legacy journals

Two journals written by Amaranta were found on Old Faithful Isle exclusively during the the time-limited The Rogue's Legacy Adventure. They were both named "Amaranta's Secret Journal".

Amaranta's Secret Journal (shark painting)

Found near the shark rock painting at the southern cliff.

Dialogue icon.png

The more I try to be like the Rogue, the more connections — however tenuous - I can see. It makes me think. Me. My own thoughts. Anything is better than trying to think like her!
We both wear masks. But hers doesn't even hide her identity! It doesn't strike fear into anyone. What 's the point? And there's another thing! That whole pointed beak thing. It's ridiculous.
She must have worn that thing for a reason, right? She wasn't uneasy on the eye from what I hear. And she wasn't one for attending masquerades.
It looks like it's made of bone, but what sort of skull is that? A giant parrot? No. It's made up. It's another example of her quirkiness. As false as fake coin!
So maybe the mask isn't what it appears. It's not worn for effect. It must be worn for some other reason. It must have been useful to the Rogue in some other way. But how? Perhaps Duke will have more luck in the quest at Kraken's Fall.

Amaranta's Secret Journal (watchtower)

Found near the watchtower to the north.

Dialogue icon.png

Like hunting treasure, seeking mystic truths in the Sea of Thieves is a demanding exercise. We must try to follow in the Rogue's footsteps, yes. But then we must attempt to then go beyond.
What was she doing travelling from place to place? Although we can retrace her footsteps, it is difficult to guess what maps or pointers she was beholden to. What steered her course?
Trying to think like the Rogue is not easy. She was a romantic, given to bouts of whimsy. This is almost poison to my soul!
However, if we are to locate this most precious prize, we may have to embrace her methods - much as it pains me to do so.
How ironic it is that the Rogue would fall foul of the very curse for which she sought a cure. Did she know what would happen to her? If so, she should have embraced. As Sister did.
