Guilds
Guilds is a social feature in Sea of Thieves that allows players to connect a group of up to 24 players together to work toward shared progress and rewards. This feature was added as the headline feature in Season Ten.
In a guild, players will unite under one banner and share their in-game efforts to progress the Guild's Reputation, either by playing together or separately.
Guild Structure
Players can create a new guild or join an existing guild, but can only be members of a maximum of 3 guilds at any one time. Each guild can have a maximum of 24 members, and each member may pledge a maximum of 15 captained ships across these guilds.
Guild Positions
The guild's creator is designated as the owner of the guild. The Guild Owner can customize the permissions for the other Guild positions, those being Guild Leader and Guild mate. These permissions include the ability to change Guild Roles of others, inviting new recruits to the guild, or removing existing guild members. Only the Guild Owner can rebrand the Guild (change the crest, mark, colors, etc) or transfer ownership to other members.
Creating a Guild
In order to be able to create a Guild you must first be a Captain with at least one Captained Ship. This Captained Ship is to be pledged to the Guild, which will then make it available to all Guild members to use.
As the Guild creator you will have the oportunity to choose your Guild's brand from a selection of Guild Crests, Marks, Colours, Motto and a name of your choice. The brand will be represented through any pledged ship via the Guild Plaque, Logbook and Banner. Choose the Guild's name carefully as this can only be done via a Renaming Deed purchased from the Pirate Emporium.
Guild Owners can rebrand a Guild after its creation by entering the in-game Settings, navigating down to the Guild Management settings, select the chosen Guild then choosing "Rebrand the Guild".
Guild Crest
The Guild Crest is the emblem design for a guild. The crest and Guild Mark will be the major components that set the theme for a guild. The colours of the crest's design can be chosen during the Guild Colours step. As the guild progressed through distinctions, the crest will evolve, gradually updating its the design by replacing existing graphic elements or adding new ones.

Guild Name
The Guild Name is the most custom and personal part of Guild creation. The name will be displayed on the Guild Plaque The player may choose the name of their liking provided they meet the name requirements and do not violate set Code of Conduct rules.
While Guild Names allow a personal touch, the same name can be used by multiple Guilds.

Guild Mottos
The Guild Motto is a short phrase that will encapsulate the theme of the Guild.

Guild Ships
Pledging an owned ship to the Guild means you can earn progress for the Guild while doing any usual in-game action that would normally earn progress or gold. A pledged ship is available for use by any Guildmates (by default), allowing them to use it to forward Guild progress as well as achieve ship milestones for the original ship's owner. If you would prefer that others not use your pledged ship without you present you can turn off ship sharing in the "Sharing Options" menu of the ship selection screen of the Guild menu. Please note; when pledging a ship to a Guild it will move the ship from "My Ships" to the guild menu. You can only pledge any given ship to one Guild, but you can pledge several of your owned ships to the same or different guilds.
As the ship's owner you still retain primary control of the ship's cosmetics and can save the current state of your ship's cosmetics and trinkets via the ship customization chest. Guild members that borrow your ship can change the cosmetics in their play session, but those changes will not be saved.
On the mast of every Guild ship can be found a Guild Plaque. This plaque shows the Guild Name & Mark as well as the earned Guild Distinction level.
When viewing another player/Guild's ship through the spyglass, even at a great distance, you will be presented with the Owner's name and the Guild the ship belongs to.
Inviting members
You can invite anyone to your Guild as long as you have space in the Guild's roster and the invitee is not already in 3 other guilds. To invite a friend you can ask them to join via the Guilds' menu of the Pirate Log if you are at sea. Invitations will be stored in the "Guild Invites" section of the Guilds' menu. To quickly invite someone you've met out at sea you can use the Guild Invite Emote available in the Emote Radial. Performing this emote will have your pirate present a sign-up scroll that the other player can interact with.
You can have 20 outstanding invitations at any one time that will expire after 7 days. You can technically have more outstanding invitations than you have actual remaining slots in the guild and Guild slots are filled on a first come, first served basis after which all other invites will be cancelled.

Guild Distinction
The progress you earn while operating as a member of your Guild goes towards your Guild's Reputation. As you play normally you will generate Guild Reputation, no specific steps need to be taken. Guilds can earn a level of Distinction for every 100 levels of Guild Reputation, with this Distinction level being displayed on the Guild plaque on the ship's mast.
Reaching higher levels of Guild Distinction unlocks rare cosmetics such as the Unbroken Bonds ship set, purchasable from the Guild Emissary table.

Guild Emissary
Upon Guild Reputation level 15, a Guild will automatically unlock access to the Guild Emissary, which is free unlike the Trading Company Emissaries.
Flying the Guild Emissary flag helps build Guild Reputation faster, the higher your Guild Emissary Grade the larger the multiplier. To fly the Guild Emissary Flag you need to interact with the Guild Emissary Table at the Sovereigns of any outpost. When flying the Guild Emissary flag you can sell almost anything you find to the Sovereigns to increase the Emissary Grade, excluding certain Reaper's Bones specific treasures but including Broken Emissary Flags, which is why the grade multipliers are notably lower compared to the other Trade Emissaries. Reaching Grade 5 Guild Emissary will make your Ship visible for all Crews on the Map Table.

Emissary Value & Ledger
Guild Emissary Value is earned every time a Crew sells a Treasure item to any Trading Company while flying a Guild Emissary Flag. Crews get increased Emissary Value the higher the Grade of their Emissary Flag. When selling Treasure as a Grade V Emissary, the Emissary Value is 75% more valuable (see the above chart for the multipliers). Emissary Value acts as a Player Pirate's individual scoreboard with a Trading Company.
A player's Emissary Value is counted in their Emissary Ledger, which divides all of the Company's Emissaries into four Ranks based on their total Emissary Value. Each Emissary Rank accounts for a percentage of the Company's total Emissary Value holders. A single Emissary Ledger scoreboard remains active for one month, after which it will be closed and reset.

Guild Chronicles
With up to 24 possible players in a guild, much can take place while you are away. The Guild Chronicles is a ledger that tracks the activities of all Guild members, allowing you to get caught up at a glance. The Chronicles can track member enrollment, rewards unlocked, & ships pledged. The Chronicle also tracks the individual activity of each pledged ship, such as who was sailing, how much gold was earned, and how much reputation was contributed to the Guild.

- Crews in a Guild session without the Captain present will now see Ship Milestone progress within the Guild Chronicles.
