Reaper's Bones Treasure are Treasure Items related to the Reaper's Bones Trading Company in Sea of Thieves. While any Treasure can be sold to the Reaper's Bones Company, this page is dedicated to the Treasure items that can only be sold to the Reaper's Bones.

Mechanics

A player can only carry one Treasure Item at a time and cannot use other items or sprint at the same time. When dropped, Reaper's Bones Treasure items will emit a white glint from far away, making them easier to spot. Treasure Items will float to the top when dropped in Water, however they will start sinking to the bottom after 5 minutes have passed. Treasure dropped on land or on the shoreline will stay in-game virtually forever. Every Reaper's Bones Treasure Item can be caught with a Ship's Harpoon. Up to three smaller Treasure items can be placed inside Container Chests to hide their glint or to simply haul more than one Item at a time.

Like any Treasure, the main use of Reaper's Bones Treasure is to sell them for Gold and Reputation.

Emissary Mechanics

Any Player Crews sailing as Reaper's Bones Emissaries can receive Emissary Grade Reputation for picking up and putting Reaper's Bones Treasure items on their Ship for the first time. Selling these items to the company as Emissaries does not give Emissary Grade Reputation, but Emissary Value instead. The higher the Crew's Emissary Grade, the more Gold, Reputation and Emissary Value they receive for selling Reaper's Bones Treasure.

Rewards

Reaper's Bones Treasure Items can only be sold to The Servant of the Flame at The Reaper’s Hideout for Gold and Reaper's Bones Reputation. Note that while Reaper's Bones accept any and all Treasure Items to weaken the other Trading Companies in Sea of Thieves, they still value their own Treasure the most. As such, any Players who Pick up and Place Reaper's Bones Treasure on their Ship as a Reaper's Bones Emissary get more Emissary Grade Reputation for them than any other Treasure. Additionally, Reaper's Bones Treasure rewards Players with more Reputation with the Company than other Treasure items, which have half the Reputation gains of selling these Items to their original Companies. There are various Commendations available for selling Reaper's Bones Treasure Items.

The following is a table of the multiplicative Rewards for selling Reaper's Bones Treasure as Graded Emissaries.

Emissary Grade Rewards, Reputation & Emissary Value
Grade 1 Base Reward
Grade 2 +33% Base Reward
Grade 3 +67% Base Reward
Grade 4 +100% Base Reward
Grade 5 +150% Base Reward

When sold, the whole Crew is rewarded with equal amounts of Gold, Reputation and Emissary Value, while Alliance Members will earn half of the Gold and Reputation Gains, but no Emissary Value.

Note that other Companies' Treasure rewards only a quarter of their original Emissary Value when sold to the Reaper's Bones.

Some Reaper's Bones Treasure Items have a variable value with the minimum and maximum reported Gold rewards documented in the tables below.

Types of Reaper's Bones Treasure

There are various types of Reaper's Bones Treasure with their own locations and rewards. Many Reaper's Bones Treasure Items used to be Bilge Rats Treasure when the Masked Stranger was still acting on behalf of the Bilge Rats on The Reaper's Hideout. With the Reaper's Bones Company, however, these are now only valuable to the Reapers themselves.

Reaper's Boxes

There are two Boxes found around The Sea of Thieves that are marked with the Reaper's Mark indicative of the Reapers themselves:

These two Boxes are only found inside Shipwrecks. Due to the Reaper's Mark on them, their location can always be seen, either in the sky or on the Map Table. Any untouched Reaper's Box shoots a massive light beacon straight into the sky, visible from all over the Seas. The Beacon for the Reaper's Chest is a swirling Red and Green light pillar. The Beacon for the Reaper's Bounty is a swirling Yellow light pillar. Once picked up, these light beacons will disappear, but Players will still be able to see the location of the Chests on the Map Table, where one has a Red on Black Skull Icon and the other a Yellow on Black Skull Icon. These chests were initially sold to the Masked Stranger, representing the Bilge Rats before the Reaper's Bones Company was created.

Gifts

Gifts are small packages, seemingly only valuable to The Reaper's Bones.

There are two types of Gifts found throughout The Sea of Thieves:

These two mysterious packages started appearing around the Seas during the Festival of Giving (2019), mainly found at Skeleton Forts, hoarded by Skeleton Lords. The contents of these are still unknown, presumably valuable to Skeleton Lords as they have Skeleton Glyphs on them. At the time, the Masked Stranger claimed that these are Gifts that can be left for other Pirates to turn in. After the Stranger's disappearance and the Reaper's Bones Company setting up shop at The Reaper’s Hideout, these mystery packages are seemingly only valuable for the Reapers, who are still willing to pay Doubloons for them.

The Gifts can be most commonly acquired through Skeleton's Orders Quests, although they can also be found inside completed Skeleton Fort Vaults, or just simply found washed up on beaches.

Broken Emissary Flags

The Item of most value to the Reaper's Bones is any proof of taking down other Trading Companies. As such, they ask any Crews that sink Emissary Ships representing any Trading Companies on the seas, steal their treasure and bring back their Broken Emissary Flag as proof of their demise. Whenever a Ship that is flying an Emissary Flag sinks or is scuttled, it will leave behind the Flag as a Treasure Item. While the Flags of each Company look different, they are mechanically the same. The only major difference between Broken Emissary Flags is the Emissary Grade of the Flag, which is dependent on the Emissary Grade of the sunken Ship. The higher the Flag's Grade, the more The Servant of the Flame is willing to reward the Crew for it.

Any Crews attempting to sell their own Ship's Emissary Flag will get scolded by the Reaper and offered a mere 1 Gold, no matter the Grade of the Flag.

The following chart lists the base Gold and Emissary Value rewards for selling a Broken Emissary Flag to The Reaper's Bones:

Flag Type Base Gold Value Base Emissary Value
