Pendragon has been banished to the Sea of the Damned following the conclusion of the Return of the Damned Adventure.
Lore
Early life
As a child, Pendragon was raised by a powerful and noble family. He would mark himself as an adventurer, attaining a reputation for the supernatural. Through this, he would be introduced to a friend of his father's named Hockaday. It was he who would send him on his earliest adventures, including one where he would meet a nefarious wizard.
He would eventually accept a post at the British Museum for artefact retrieval, working for two brothers who were once clerks there. In the course of their stamping duties, a scroll directing to a mystery would appear. This mystery would leave Pendragon entombed in the Great Sphinx's passages, attempting to escape while fighting off the undead for the first time. A joint endeavor between the British Navy and Museum would then be formed, giving Pendragon access to his own manned ship and leads on supernatural sites, whereas the Museum added his finds to their collection.
The Blackwyche
Feeling as if the position failed to be what he had hoped for, he would retreat to his studies. It was there that Hockaday would visit Pendragon for the last time, telling him about the pirate named Richard Cavendish and how he, his crew, and his ship the Blackwyche, disappeared without a trace or warning. Off the coast of Dragon Skull Isle, the Blachwyche was found anchored. The British Navy would make attempts to approach but failed due to the ship being protected by flying demons and ghastly spectors.
Instantly intrigued by the story, Pendragon would set sail immediately to intercept the haunted ship. Not wanting additional harm to come to his own crew, Pendragon would board the Blackwyche alone, fighting off phantoms and skeletons that were on the ship. After venturing into the Captain's Cabin, Pendragon would stumble upon Cavendish's journal, detailing upon how he had come across a mystical artefact, the Crystal Skull of Souls. To their dismay, the skull condemned their spirit to the Blackwyche for perpetual unrest, leading to Cadvenish's soul being scattered across the ship. Pendragon would reassemble the fragmented pieces of Captain Cavendish's soul, releasing the ship from its curse.
As a gesture of thanks, Captain Cavendish bestowed command of the Blackwyche to Pendragon, along with a map to the Sea of Thieves. The Captain asked that Pendragon find his daughter, Ana Cavendish, and recruit her as part of the Blackwyche crew, then leave her the ship once Pendragon had no use of it any longer. Richard Cavendish then parted ways with his ship as Pendragon made preparations for his own journey into the Sea of Thieves.
Venturing into the Sea of Thieves
Arriving in the Sea of Thieves, Pendragon would come to help fellow sailors after being attacked by a Kraken. In an effort to drop a ship that was being held by a tentacle, Pendragon ordered his crew to concentrate fire on it. Pendragon, having dropped the ships without slaying the Kraken, would later that night toast to the Sea of Thieves with other fellow pirates over their victory. The occasion would leave Pendragon to realize that neither a title nor lineage mattered, as all pirates there were equal.
In the morning, Pendragon would wonder how one could become great, concluding that reputation was the answer. As a result, Pendragon would devote himself to leading a campaign for those who are willing to protect the weak and provide a boost to those in need in the Sea of Thieves. During one of his missions, Pendragon would investigate an onslaught that had occurred on an Outpost, with there being only one sole survivor in a collapsed tavern. Upon questioning the survivor, it was discovered that skeletons were responsible for kidnapping the Outpost villagers.
The Champion of Souls
Knowing that Pendragon would have to take matters into his own hands, he would recruit other pirates to gather intelligence on the whereabouts of the skeletons. It was in these days that Pendragon would receive many posts about the onslaught that had taken place previously, but the one that stood out to him was from Madame Olivia, detailing the next attack that would unfold from the skeletons. He and the other pirates would venture out to the location listed in the post, but when they arrived, the inhabitants were unaware of such an attack.
However, it would appear that the information provided by Madame Olivia would end up in them arriving earlier than the skeletons. Upon their arrival, the two sides would fight in a fierce and far-ranging battle. With both sides determined, the pirates would come out victorious. The significance of the victory would not go unnoticed, as Madame Olivia had foreseen it. Believing to have located her Champion of Souls, she would send out one of her sisters to Pendragon to inform him of a proposition.
Upon Pendragon's arrival, Madame Olivia welcomed his visit to the Order of Souls. Before his arrival, Madame Olivia had already prepared tea for Pendragon to his liking. Much to Pendragon's doubts as to how she would know how he takes his tea, when he tries it, he commented that it was perfect. However, this would put Pendragon at a disadvantage, because as much as Madame Olivia knew about him, all Pendragon had was her name. Following the remark, Madame Olivia would introduce herself as the leader of the Order of Souls, proposing a partnership with Pendragon. Knowing that he had nothing of skeleton plans and movements, she would provide locations for Pendragon, in exchange for him to become her Champion. Agreeing to the proposition, Madame Olivia would gift the Sword of Souls to Pendragon as a means of freeing trapped souls and fighting against the undead.

The Seabound Soul
During The Seabound Soul Tall Tale, Player Crews will find Pendragon released from a cursed painting of his likeness in the Captain's Quarters of his ship Blackwyche thanks to Stitcher Jim, who freed him with a Ritual. With his Sword of Souls and Enchanted Lantern, Pendragon offers the player the chance to retrace the steps and release the souls of three other cursed Captains. The Tall Tale sees Player Crews doing just that by finding each of the Captain's Skulls imprisoning the cursed souls and releasing them.
These three Captains are: Captain Martha Jane, Captain Randal Stone and a third mystery Captain who was supposedly imprisoned on a Ship called the Ashen Dragon who turns out to be Captain Flameheart with the Ashen Dragon acting as his funeral pyre.
Heart of Fire
During the Heart of Fire Tall Tale, Player Crews will once again join Pendragon to locate Stitcher Jim and Captain Flameheart with the aid of Grace Morrow. Pendragon claims that it was Stitcher Jim who released him from the painting and it was Jim who planned the release of Captain Flameheart. He also states that Jim has cursed the souls of his remaining Blackwyche Crew away into Stitcher’s Chest of Rage. The player is tasked with finding Jim and Flameheart's Lair. Once there, Jim will get burned by Flameheart, leaving the cursed chest behind. The Player Crews then deliver the Chest back to Pendragon on the shore so that he can finally set his cursed crew free.
A Pirate's Life
During the A Pirate's Life tall tales, Pendragon helps convince Jack Sparrow to return to The Sea of Thieves and also assists in defeating Davy Jones and the Dark Brethren. After that, he chose to stay in the Sea of Thieves to protect it from future threats.
The Shrouded Deep
Pendragon later appears in The Shrouded Deep Adventure, assisting the crews by repelling the Ghost Ships while the pirates focus on defeating the Shrouded Ghost. After its defeat, he retrieves the Veil of the Ancients and he, Belle, and Merrick discover that the Veil Stones are missing. He then takes the veil to the Pirate Lord for safekeeping.
The Herald of the Flame
In The Herald of the Flame Adventure, Pendragon investigates the trail of Stitcher Jim, learning that Jim is the Herald of the Flame. After the Herald was defeated, he used his sword to destroy Flameheart's skull. But, both the Herald and Flameheart's remains were missing once he returned to try to tie up loose ends.
Return of the Damned
During the Return of the Damned Adventure, Pendragon and Belle attempted to perform a counter-ritual to summon Captain Flameheart and banish him to the Sea of the Damned for eternity, but at the risk of Pendragon meeting the same fate if they failed. Many crews, eager to prevent Flameheart's revival aided Pendragon in his efforts, but ultimately the Reaper's efforts were successful in reviving Flameheart and instead Pendragon banished to the Sea of the Damned.

The Log of Sir Arthur Pendragon, Captain of the Blackwyche
Entry #1
The Blackwyche is mine!
Bequeathed to me by her former captain, whose soul I saved from its eternal torment. A fine reward, if I am any judge.
I shall sail her out from Dragon Skulle Isle and set a course for the Sea of Thieves. Grand adventures await me there, I have no doubt, and I wish to meet them head-on.-

Entry #17
Of all those I have encountered on my travels, few understand me better than the Order of Souls. They command my respect, and I have learned many of their arcane secrets.
Today, Olivia surprised me with a gift - a Sword of Souls, she called it. The touch of its blade can free any spirit from the bones that bind it. It seems I am to be the Order's champion, of a sort.-

Entry #23
My new sword makes dealing with chattering cadavers mere child's play! Already I desire a greater challenge. That is why I am sailing in pursuit of the creature known as Graymarrow, a fearsome Skeleton Lord.
Rumour has it he too has an interest in the Order's secrets. He shall experience them first-hand as my blade splits his spirit from what remains of his cursed body!-

Entry...?
Eternity. An infinity of moments cursed in canvas - or so it felt.
Was I trapped for days?
Years?
I have no way to tell.
It was the price I paid for my hubris.
To be captured by Graymarrow, forced to explain the binding ritual only to then become its next victim... The shame I feel is indescribable, as is being trapped in this phantom-like state.
I must atone. I will atone! The kindly stranger who freed me spoke of others whose spirits, like mine, have been trapped...
...Imprisoned in their own decaying remnants. My lantern would guide me to them if I still had substance enough to carry it.
While I consider my options, I shall make note of all the stranger told me. I must not fail those poor wretches as I failed myself!
