The Blunderbuss is a close-range weapon in Sea of Thieves. It fires a wide spread of ten pellets per shot with each pellet dealing 9 damage. A point-blank hit from the Blunderbuss can be enough to knock a player off the ship, making the Blunderbuss an incredibly effective weapon at preventing boards and close quarter combat. At a longer range the pellets will spread and fall off quickly, making the chance of damage and knockback less reliable. Its maximum ammo capacity is five, allowing for five shots before being completely depleted.
Usage
Shot: Primary Use fires ten pellets in a wide spread.
It is most effective when fired while aiming down the sights at very close range where targets will be struck with multiple pellets. Aiming the Blunderbuss will concentrate all the pellets to a central point, whereas firing it from the hip causes the pellets to spread in a wide cone.

- The spread pattern of the blunderbuss has been widened
- Players propelled backwards by a blunderbuss shot no longer have movement control while in the air
- New visual effects have been added to the blunderbuss, with white-hot debris, smoke and distortion effects identifying the effective range of its new knockback strength.
- The damage dealt by each pellet fired from the blunderbuss has been slightly reduced, reducing the total output of the weapon to 90 damage
- Pellets fired from the blunderbuss now fizzle out at long range

- Wielding Weapons – The forced firing delay has been removed when wielding a gun after sprinting or undocking, allowing players to fire sooner. The forced firing delay when switching weapons still remains to prevent fast switching and firing between guns.
